Honey Cinnamon Fig Puff Pastry Danishes

These Honey Cinnamon Fig Puff Pastry Danishes are the kind of treat that looks like it came straight from a bakery but couldn't be easier to make at home. Buttery, flaky puff pastry is filled with a creamy cinnamon cream cheese filling and baked until perfectly golden. Once cooled, each Danish is topped with fresh figs and finished with a sweet honey drizzle for the perfect combination of creamy, flaky, and fruity in every bite. They're perfect for a cozy breakfast, weekend brunch, or whenever fresh figs are in season.

Instructions

Directions:

  1. 1. Combine all filling ingredients together until smooth. Place in a piping bag and set to the side.
  2. 2. Cut puff pastry dough into 9 squares. Cut 4 slits ½ an inch from the edge of the dough, ensuring that two opposite corners are fully cut, while the other two are still connected.
  3. 3. Brush the edges with egg wash, and gently cross the dough over itself. Place them onto a sheet tray lined with parchment paper and brush the whole pastry with egg wash.
  4. 4. Pipe the filling inside of the pastry and bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes.
  5. 5. In a small bowl, whisk powdered sugar, honey, and milk until evenly combined.
  6. 6. Top cooled pastries with fig slices, drizzle with icing, and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  7. Note: You can alternatively cut the dough by folding the square in half (like a triangle) and cutting ½ an inch into the edges
